Day 202 - Tent day

I really didn't do much today at all. Our glastonbury buddy Dan White came up put the tent up, and now we're just chilling with some tv. Excellent weekend! Here a photo of the tent and us

Well, I've messed up - DAY 201!

OVER 200 DAILY BLOG POSTS

This is slightly embarrassing. Turns out in one of my very short, late night posts I repeated a day and missed my actual 200th post. Anyway, we'll have a little look back over the past 100 days.

I think the main thing that points out the most about these past 100 days was the beginning of the beard reviews. Starting with on day 149 with Michael Eavis. They have been a little slow lately what with me being super busy at work, but I'm sure I'll be able to fit in at least one a week from now on. I'm thinking every Friday could be a beard review day. Yeah I like the sound of that.

If we look back at day 101 I was still part way through my beard test. What a fail that was, but I have to say after taking them pills I have started to notice a few changes here and there but no full on beard just yet.

Day 110 was my first every, but not the last guest post by my girlfriend. Who is a great blogger by the way, go check her out HERE. She has been getting into her cross stitch lately and has been doing some really awesome ones. Including some Seal lyrics as a house warming present for me and my housemates.

Look through all the posts of March, all I ever seem to be talking about is vinyls. One day I'm buying new ones and the next I'm listening to them all. That reminds me, I might actually go to the record shop after work and pick up a few new ones for the weekend.

Of course, it was in this 100 days that we found our new house on day 127. To think we viewed some terrible houses and the last one was perfect, and now this week we'll be putting the money down to finally call it ours. In no time we'll be moving our stuff in and partying likes it freshers all over again. Cannot wait. And then when it does actually get to freshers we'll be poor and burnt out...

The featured beards are rolling in now with with Gandalf. Which to this day is one of my personal favourite blog posts I've done. Hope we'll have some more like it very soon. When we move into May the beards do die down a little, this was when my work load was going through roof, and there is very little sign of it slowing down right now, but I'm sure like I said earlier I'll be able to fit in at least one a week from now on.

And then we're here today, with a good 20 or so days of me moaning about work and coming in late, and then writing really shitty posts on the weekend or when I end up forgetting, which is still at the beginning of every week. One day I'll learn I'm sure.

Well, thank you if you have been reading. I don't really do it for any audience, just wanted to see if I can do it. Only 136 more days to go and I'll be all done. No doubt it'll be round in no time.

WEEKEND TIME.

Day 200 - Naps kill

No idea why, but I thought it would be good idea to have a nap after work, oops. Of course I have an idea why, because naps are awesome until you wake up.

Been a really good day at work, Everything is coming along nicely, even though some other placement students I work with will be leaving soon, which is going to make my job more difficult in many ways. A) I'll have more work to do. B) I'll be pretty much on my own for another two months. Not a fan of working on my own, I really so prefer a team when it comes to large amounts of work. I'm sure I'll cope though and hopefully August will be along in no time. I actually counted the days to when I finish and it's around 50 days if I use up the rest of my holidays to finish a little bit earlier.

I get in from work, and what with Jonny being in London and sort of on my own for the night because Martin (my other housemate) is busy working away. So I crack on some Simpsons and end up falling asleep for 40 minutes and it has screwed me up big time. You know that feeling you get after a nap? I have it so bad. But I think a stupid amount of cheesy chips has put me back on the path of a normal human being.

Seen as though I have the night to myself I'm going to watch The Machinest and get an early night before a crazy weekend of antics. It's not a movie I've seen before, but I do love a good Christian Bale film. I watched Momento last night in reverse order, that was a great film. It's a little tough to get your head around but once you do it all pays off. It's a very well made film by an amazing director Christopher Nolan. I might even try and slip in a Dark Knight film this weekend if I have time.

Not a very eventful day, but I've managed to get some length out of a non eventful day and a nap when I got in, somehow? I think tomorrow will be pretty much the same up until I get in and our friend arrives. Mr. Dan White. I'll post a little picture of the giant tent we have on Saturday if we ever managed to pitch it.

Day 199 - A strange way to end the day

It's been a busy day, so I didn't blog at work. Now I'm eating soup listening to 60 Years of BBC Theme Music...

For some reason it was painfully difficult to get up. It was throwing it down outside which I think had something to do with it. Really am not a fan of cold wet mornings. But I made it into work and had a pile of work waiting for me.

I finished it all off before the end of the day, so hopefully it should be an easy enough few days before the weekend. Got an epic weekend coming up again, we have a friend coming over that we're going to Glastonbury with, so we're having a run through of putting the tent up.

I got in and Jonnys brother has popped round because they're heading to London tomorrow. So we're sat here with a curveball vinyl on, BBC Theme music over 60 years...it's a very strange choice haha, feel like I'm playing Bioshock.

Well, we're going to watch Wolf Of Wall Street and get an early night. Maybe I'll turn up to work tomorrow in a fine suit and take loads of drugs...or not haha

Day 198 - Back to business

The weekend is over, so it's time to get back to work, train travel and Photoshop.

It's been a pretty good weekend what with going home, seeing family and then coming back, seeing friends and seeing Terri. The perfect weekend I like to call it, and their is no sign of future weekends not being like that, which I could certainly get use to.

Staying at Terris means I get a little extra time in bed, which is always a winner, so I went to work in a good mood, which is rare haha. To top it off, Terri made me some epic food for dinner and I even got some feedback on my work, which I never get, and it was good day. That is one of few reasons I actually enjoy doing what I do. There is nothing worse than doing work for someone and getting nothing in return, and it is always a motivating feeling when you get a "thank you" from someone.

We're nearly at day 200, which I keep totally forgetting about. 200 whole days of blogging, I honestly thought I would never get this far. I'm not really sure what to do on the 200th day, I'll probably do a look back over the days and maybe try and plan something special along side it, if I can think of anything that is.

Today whilst I've been hard at work I've gone back in time and listened to a absolute classic album. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin (1969). The main reason I stuck it on, not just being a overall kickass album, is that I'm getting to see Robert Plant at Glastonbury, and I know he plays a few classic Zeppelin covers in his solo set, along with some of his solo stuff. If "Dazed and Confused" and "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" don't get you in the mood to work then nothing ever will. I might even move on to Led Zeppelin II tomorrow and carry on this Led Zep rush I'm getting haha. Of course that album opens up ith "Whole Lotta Love", which will get me in the mood once again when I'm on the early train to Huddersfield. Even though these albums came out at the back end of the 60's I've been getting into another very popular 60's band called The Zombies. I had only heard of the one song "Time of the Season" a few months back, but after listen to the album "Odessey and Oracle" it really comes into its own. I even checked out a live video from a recent show they did, and they certain still have it. They are so unbelievable tight, the drums are so well timed, even though they probably never used a click track back then, and everyone was too high to make the effort to time drums. Nobody wants to time drums anyway, unless you're programming electric drums to go over a EDM track. Don't get me wrong, drum tracks like that have there place, but I think if you want a real, raw and human track then you're much better off practicing the hell out of a take and nailing it, rather than timing them. If you take any Black Keys album, you can tell a human being in sat behind a kit playing with their heart, and not over Pro Tools.

Was that a rant? I keep doing that, I think I need to tone down on the ranting. It seems like every other day I have another new topic to moan about. Maybe I'm getting old? No. No I am not getting old. Never!

Day 197 - Classic day off

Bank holiday. Food, laziness and actual crap TV.

My lie in this morning was epic, if I could have stayed in bed all day I would of. But I had to jump in the shower and make my way to Huddersfield to see Terri. Not seen her for a while and it's good to be here again.

We went to Warehouse in town and had a bit of food and drink. Got my hands on a Warehouse card, no doubt that'll be getting abused next year haha.

We got in and made gammon, egg and chips and it was frigging awesome. I do enjoy a large amount of food which puts me into a coma for the rest of the day.

Britians Got Talent was on TV. I really cannot stand any shows like that. I said it was like an itch, which once you get rid of it, another one pops up called X Factor. Maybe someone needs to do a talent show were if you're a dancer or singer, you can't enter. That's all it ever seems to be now a days. Pah!

Anyway, that's enough moaning from me.

Day 196 - Oops

Yeah i totally forgot, I've been walking, eating and traveling pretty much all day, and it's been epic haha. So this will be short and sweet

Went for a walk around Newmillerdam, I always like going for a walk with everyone, it is always a good laugh.

Then of course when we got in the roast was waiting. Nailed that and had to run for a bus.

Got back and I'm back on the food, currently making cheese toasties getting ready to sample this garlic mayo and then it's time for the Simpsons haha

Day 195 - I'm all packed up

Moved a lot of my stuff out from my place in Leeds back home ready to go back to Huddersfield. I will certainly miss Leeds, but it is going to be good to be back home.

Got woken up early by the dog. Every time I'm home she always finds a way into my room and jumps on my bed for 30 seconds and is on her way again. Usually get back to sleep, but when family are up I get up and have breakfast with everyone. And of course the breakfasts are top notch when both my Nan and Mum are in the kitchen haha.

Soon after we all took Molly for a walk and headed over to Leeds to pick up my stuff. We ended up getting a little lost because of my mum's sat nav but we got there in the end. Packed all my stuff up, everyone had a good laugh at all the crazy stuff in our house. We didn't stick around, after we packed everything we got back home before we got hit by a serious storm.

Pretty much been milling about all day, watching whatever has been on TV. So nothing too special to report really. To say I'm blogging on my laptop on the weekend for the change it'll still be a short one.

I think we're off for one final walk tomorrow when my sister is back from work, and just before I leave to go back to Leeds for my final month.

Day 194 - I'm homeeeeeee

I was very ill last night, didn't go into work today, and ended up at home watching classic Simpsons episodes.

Yeah last night I got this serious cramp in my stomach at like 2 in the morning. I hasn't eaten all day because eating all that crap just total destoryed my appetite. But finally the body had enough and ended up being sick at 2AM, but then all of a sudden I was so hungry, so I ended up brushing my teeth and going to make toasties haha.

Still felt a little crap in the morning, so I thought I'd be a good call to not go in. I packed up a little more of my stuff and headed off to see the family. Like I always say, it really does my some good seeing them all.

The weather has been pretty crazy so we haven't really done much, we went for a little walk but that was about it. Now I'm in bed watching The Simpsons. Gotta be ready for a day of packing up and moving boxes from Leeds.

Day 193 - Hate being ill

It's a late and short post this evening, I've been ill all day and I'm totally taking advantage of this bed.

Last night we stayed up pretty late and ate nothing but sugar, usually doesn't do much to me but this morning I felt so crap. Really hits home that I might be changing and all this bad food is finally getting to me. Damn it.

I left work a little early so I could go home and get some decent food, it made make me feel a lot better, but I don't think I'll be going in tomorrow. Spent most of the night watching films haha.

The times came out for the bands at glastonbury and all the clashes I had are no longer there. Meaning I can pretty much see all the bands I want to, boom! I didn't even notice that Band of Skulls had been added to the line up as well, which is a double boom!

Well I'm gonna get back to some films and drinking tea, thug life I know.

Day 192 - Much better

You can't beat an actual nice day, with good weather. Is it acceptable to wear sunglasses in the office? No? Damn.

It was actually really nice as soon as I got up this morning, so the sunglasses when straight on before anything else haha. I have some pretty garish sunnies to be honest, I did pick them up from Primark from the lady section, but I think I can pull them off haha. Or just nobody is telling me they look stupid. Either way they'll be coming out along with the fur coat at Glastonbury.

I did see a post somewhere today saying that is could well be a very hot June and July, which is great, but typical knowing that I have bought a fur coat. I'm sure it will come in very handy on them cold nights in the tent.

As far as work goes, I've actually had a good day. People thanking me, and appreciating my work is always a win. Hopefully my tutor will see that I'm actually doing a good job when it comes to my final meeting.

I'll be honest, I did actually nearly forget about blogging today, but I think this could well be the first full week in a long time of not forgetting. Or did I forget Monday? I don't know. It feels normal anyway.

Last night we all managed to get in pretty early, so we thought we'd crack on some music and spend some quality time on Grand Theft Auto, we hadn't been on it multiplayer for a while so we thought we'd all crack on. It was fun for the first 20 minutes until the servers went down. Surely Rockstar should know how much of a popular game it is, and upgrade to high hell. It is a shame the servers are so lame, because it would be perfect online then. But I'm sure it will continue tonight, hopefully without any trouble.

Bit of a random change of topic, but I've only just got round to hear Dr. Dre's new song "I need a doctor", from (or was from) his album "Detox". I'm not feeling it, and I'm glad it won't be on the new album after all. He even shows clips when he was in NWA and this hard faces west coast rapper, but now he's just another chart topping rapper. Listen to me, bang on about rap. So white. It's weird, but I've only just really got into it, I'm not a massive fan of modern rappers, I really do prefer the older stuff. And if I had to say it, I prefer west coast rap haha. (I can only see the texts coming in now when Terri read this, I've not changed! I've just got into new music okay! Haha).

I'll call that a day for work. I have food waiting for me back home, and an Xbox.

Day 191 - I love a good vent

Spent pretty much all night venting out to my housemates, and today I did the same in a letter. Hurry up weekend!

Managed to actually get up fine this morning, but I know what will happen, I'll think I'm getting use to early mornings and then bam. It is painfully difficult to get out of a bed. I don't know why I kid myself, I'll probably be like that for the rest of my life haha.

Well of course I was in a terrible mood yesterday, and that passed on last night even when I got in and had a cuppa tea. Luckily though I had a good vent to everyone in the house and they listened and gave me a few pointers. I've been told to write a letter to my head of year, which is a little blunt, but hopefully he will get my point.

Last night we thought we'd listen to the first albums we ever bought. So I picked Gorillaz self titled debut album, which yes, was the first album I ever bought. Forgot how much of a good album it actually is, as well as Demon Days, which is another great album. I do really like the whole virtual members gimmick they have going on. Sometimes when they play live they have some really cool projections of the members, hopefully one day I'll get to see them.

Today has been a very boring day, writing that letter and photoshopping posters as always. The best news is that it is payday tomorrow haha. Also my mum and grandparents are coming up this weekend so I'll be going home for a bit, which I'm looking forward to. I've not been home in a while, and I could do with a good walk to help me out a little haha. Plus all the food haha. Nah but seriously, it is always great to see my family.

Day 190 - Screw Mondays!

I knew it was going to be a bad day when I got up this morning, I guess it can't get any worse, plus I just got some good news...

We all got so excited for Glastonbury for some reason last night and ended up staying up dead late just swapping stories, like little girls having a sleepover haha, nah it was fun and we got a bit of planning done. But I really could of done without the 2AM sleep. my first alarm didn't even wake me up then my second just put me in a major mood. Of course the train times have changed over the weekend, so I guessed when to go for a train because the app wasn't working. Luckily managed to get on a train and it was too busy.

Here we go, get ready for this. I get into work to find my final assignment has been marked up, and of course my hard ass tutor has given my a shitty grade. I'll admit my first assignment wasn't great, but he marked it dead harsh. I listened to everything he had to say, even sat through patronizing talks I didn't want to hear. I took everything from my last meeting, knew the next assignment like the back of my hand and started early. I thought I was making serious progress with my work only to be told it is crap by some old fashioned man, and his old fashioned ways. He actually pulls out these papers charts and measures stress, and telling me I should be looking at charts like these on a daily basis. Yeah, because everyone does that in the world of work. Plus it is plain to see he is a boring guy, who must have been a right hermit when he was at university. I like to hope I have a few stories and have some experience in life rather than being able to plot my stress levels on a chart. I honestly think hes years of a teacher are coming to an end, and I'll try not to tell him when we next meet.

But, now I have some good news. Got a phone call from the estate agents about the new house and it has all gone through. Just waiting on a few minor details, which aren't a problem and we're good to go! We get a last minute inspection of the house before we officially move in so they can sort everything. Then after Glastonbury, I'll officially be living in Huddersfield again. Very exciting times.

Day 189 - Still broken

Woke up this morning and my neck was stupidly stiff, I could barely move it. I was going to get in the bath but it's a little now, plus I'm sure all the xbox I've played today has helped it out loads haha.

Andy left for home this afternoon, this could be he last time he comes to the house now. All the band stuffs finished off and we'll be I'm our new house in a few months. Plus it's like 5 weeks until glastonbury, boom!

Just heard Breaking Bad won a Bafta which is awesome, that show deserves all the awards possible! And apparently Aaron Paul still has his cracking beard haha. Maybe he'll appear tomorrow in my blog?

I left the whole video shoot blog post a little short so I'll do a nice big catch up tomorrow once I'm infront of a computer.

I'd love to write more but I literally have done nothing today haha

Day 188 - I'm broken

We had the video shoot done today. It did actually go ahead with no problems, which I was a little surprised. But I was too tired for surprise, that was until we got to the place and saw this epic set just for us. Plus we had a few drinks before hand at some stupid time in the morning.

We started filming and it was great fun, going crazy and stuff haha. But after hours of rocking out it messed me up big style. I'm not the fittest guy and it really took me out of it, at one point I was almost sick from throwing myself around so much.

So now I'm laying on the sofa watching a film with everyone, so tired and achey haha. So I'm bedding it and making it a short one.

Day 187 - The day before the shoot

It has been a stressed filled couple of days, but it looks like it is finally happening

To say I got a good nights sleep last night I felt like hell this morning. No idea why but I felt really ill and made my journey into work terrible. Anyway, I made it, worked my ass off (a little) and now I get to leave early. Not bad for a Friday really. So I'm doing my blog post for the day before I leave like the good "blogger" I am, yeah I use the term blogger very lightly in this case, because I have a feeling this could be a short one. Firstly, because I want to go home, and secondly because I've done pretty much nothing today other than work.

Got to hear a rough mix of Burn last night, and it is sounding awesome! Probably one of the best mixes as a band we have right now, and hopefully the video will make it even more popular. Fingerscrossed anyway, it could all go pear shaped at any moment, but I'm sure we'll be fine.

Another really nice day, on my dinner break I went and sat with Terri in one of the many beer gardens Huddersfield has to offer. Went to Warehouse, which has just been done up, and it is looking really swanky. I think it'll become very popular next year for me and the rest of the guys I'm living with, along with Parish of course, our second home.

Had a major urge to cook omelettes tonight, so that is exactly what I'll be doing as soon as I get home. Not had them in ages.

I am going to brave the walk to the station with my jacket, even though I'm pretty sure it won't change anytime soon, but knowing my luck it'll rain as soon as I walk out of the door.

Anyway, it's officially weekend time, hooray for sleep!...Well on Sunday.

Day 186 - Definitely getting old

Yup, it's been another busy day, but I've filled it with new music from different times. With this in mind I have just got into Neil Young, who I thought was boring back in my teenage years...it's happening.

Again, like always, found it hard to get up this morning. The train ride is getting really boring now, I'm even getting bored of seeing the same tired faces on the train. No doubt they're bored of me as well. Trains are still filled with some of the rudest people, it is honestly like it is no hold barred when it comes to train stations. People in suits barging past people, and old people thinking they own the place. I'm all for respecting the elderly, but some do actually take the piss. I'm surprised I've managed to keep it to just telling one guy to fuck off this past year, guess their is still time though for some more haha.

We booked all our tickets and what not ready for the shoot on saturday, it is a very early start. We're planning on getting up about 7AM, making a big breakfast and then hitting the road...well tracks. We're getting to the shoot extra early, because we're going for a few beers before the actual shoot to loosen up a little, I think the crew are even coming along which will be good. Exciting times.

Other than photoshopping everything under the sun I've been filling the day with loads of music. I think I mentioned yesterday I checked out a band called Lau who are a folk band, checked out their latest album and it is sick. Here is a link to one of my personal favoruites from the album. They are performing it live here, and it sounds exactly like it does on the album. Musicianship to the max

They are a little different, and some of their songs sound like they have come straight from Game of Thrones or Black Sails, but they are great song writers and it'll be a great way to start a good weekend of music at Glastonbury.
I remembered seeing Neil Young on TV back in 2009 when they BBC covered Glastonbury. I didn't think much of it at the time being a young narrow minded teenager, but I thought I'd stick on his set and listen to it whilst I did some work. Not knowing much about Young, other than his move to with Crosby, Stills and Nash, to make Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, I thought it would be a good way to get into some new/old music. It really paid off, I think I've come away a fan, just there is no chance of me seeing him live anytime soon. Damn! But making a three minute song last over 11 minutes is a task in its self. Here is another link to his final song at Glastonbury, so many choruses.

I think as soon as I get in tonight, I'll have quick hour on Grand Theft Auto, which could very easily turn to two. Then I need to practice my moves for the shoot on Saturday...wow I wish you could have seen my face cringe when I wrote that.

Day 185 - When will it end?

I know that is a bit of a depressing start to a blog in regards to the title, but it isn't as bad as it sounds. In all fairness I couldn't think of a decent title.

Well, of course it has been another really busy day, but I've found a bit of time to post before leaving work. Pretty sure I've walked the entire campus about five times today, guess it is doing me some good though. It is a beautiful day outside, but I'm sure it won't last long, I've hear more rain is coming. Hopefully won't stop us from shooting this Saturday.

The video shoot is this Saturday, it was all confirmed this morning (better late than never, I guess) and we've got a great location. I'm not going to spoil it and say anything, but I'm really happy with it, and so is everyone else. Really looking forward to it.

It's six weeks to this day until Glastonbury, and I am one excited human. Even though Gong have pulled out today, which is gutting because I did really want to go see them. But I've spend a bit of today looking into some more acts that are playing Glastonbury. Lau was a name that stood out for me, I'm not entirely sure why, but it did. They are a kind of folk band. I checked out a few YouTube videos and they are weird in a good way, I think I'll be checking them out if they don't clash with anyone important.
I did find a really rough clashfinder the other day, and it looks like Jack White and Haim are going to clash which I am gutted about, but I think I am having to have to pick Jack White with this one. I have much more chance of seeing Haim somewhere else. Plus Jack is right before Metallica and just after Robert Plant, so we can get a really good spot near the main stage for them. The tent arrived this morning, which is the final piece of the Glastonbury puzzle, we just need to work out how we are going to put it up. We're thinking of having a test run in the field near our house, I think we can get one good run then we're all set. We also came up with a little plan for the Wednesday. Because my birthday is on the Sunday, we can't really do much as a group what with it being a Sunday and it being so close to Glastonbury, So we're going to go extra crazy on the Wednesday and have that as my "night out" if you like. Which is pretty awesome, having a night out at a festival for your birthday, I may be a different man/boy when it's over.

The thought hit me today that I won't be able to blog whilst I am there, so I'll be passing you all over to my glamorous assistant Terri. I probably will be able to get online whilst I am there, but I don't really fancy spending time looking at my phone whilst I am there. I'd much rather get into the swing of things and enjoy my weekend. Anyway, she is a much better blogger than me and I'm sure she'll write some great posts whilst I am away, but until then you are stick with me for many, many more days.

Day 184 - Way too busy

It's probably been one of the most busiest days of my placement, not only with work but with band related stuff as well.

To start a bad day off, I woke up late and missed my train. Not a good start, but as soon as I got in I cracked on with my work. The phones didn't stop ringing and the requests kept on coming in, I managed to sorted everything though, worked related that is. During the day I had to ring the production company to make sure they confirmed a nice location for us this weekend. It's nice to have all that sorted, pretty much just waiting for Saturday so we can shoot. This is my first ever shoot and I'm really looking forward to it. I think we'll all learn a lot from it, which I think I'm most excited for. They are also doing a photoshoot, an interview with us all and a making of teaser that we can post before we post the video.

Yeah that's the reason it's a late post tonight, I'll try my best to keep it lengthy but I'm flagging and I said I was going to watch Sin City tonight for the first time. I've not heard much about it other than it being in black and white. Apparently it's short stories put together to make a film. I'll have to do a mini-review tomorrow of I make it all the way through. I changed up the format a little for the featured beards, when I go a beard review I think I'm going to scrap the diary entry and stick with the beards from now on. Also changed the name of the blog as well to "In Beards We Trust" haha.

A watched a Vice documentary not long back about sensory deprivation, it was a great video that went into loads of detail about what happens and why it happens. So when I saw a video on YouTube of Rhett and Link trying it out I jumped at the chance of watching it, and of course they didn't disappoint. Two guys that have probably never had a "trip" before starting out almost taking the piss a little about what might happen, but after an hour in a tank they are totally different and seemed to really enjoy their time in the tank. I recommed you watch the video, I can't link it on my phone but I'm sure you can find it.

I could have totally done this post a little earlier but I treated myself to some quality time with Trevor Philips, and started shooting up gangsters around Los Santos. It was exactly what I needed after today, now I'm right in the mood to get into bed early and stick something on. I've been watching a lot of Planet Earth recently, maybe I'll finish off that instead of sticking a film on. Watch that as well if you've not already, the world is amazing place!

Day 183 - Featured Beard: Andy Copeland

This is my dear friend Andy Copeland. He plays bass like a machine and I have the pleasure of sharing the same stage as him. As you can see from the picture, he is also a fan of the beard. So I'm going to spend a few moments reviewing this fine beard I have had the pleasure of having my hands on. Like normal, I go into the history of the person, but I feel I should say now that I'll have to miss a lot out due to legal reasons...plus I'm pulling most of this straight from his Facebook profile.

So Andrew Copeland was apparently born and bought up in the town of Kingswood, Gloucestershire, you can tell that the farming life has taken its toll on Andy as of today he can grown the manliest beard in the band. Probably from all the tractor driving and sheep herding making him so manly.
Andy now lives in the city of London working for Avid, from what I have heard he is mainly on the phone, but a beard like that deserves to be out and free for the world to see, not behind a desk! Apparently his first job was back in 2009, working at Lloyds Pharmacy. Maybe Andy found some secret pills hidden behind the counter which triggered his extensive beard growth?! Nobody knows. All I can say is, they did a good job, and where the hell can I find them?

After sailing through school and college with flying colours as a bearded child he soon found himself with the conundrum of picking a university to go to. Luckily he picked the center of the universe, Huddersfield. If Andy would not have picked Huddersfield he wouldn't be a bassist in a kickass rock band, and I wouldn't be able to give his beard a little stroke when I'm feeling down about my shitty baby beard.

Going into more detail about the beard itself, the possibilities are endless. I have seen this man rock a handlebar moustache before, and wield it with pride as he walks around Camel like the total boss he is. Here is proof of said handlebar. Just look at it. Andy is clearly a man who has no boundaries when it comes to facial hair. A man who is proud to have such hair grow from his face in any manner or style has my respect for a lift time.

Andy is well known to be a little bit of a party animal, but how the hell do you stop a man with a beard? You don't. You stop whatever you are doing and look at the beard. But In all seriousness he is a great guy, and it is amazing know him, you could be in the worst mood ever and he will put a smile on your face, beard or no beard. He is forever a happy guy, and I've learnt a lot from him. It is a fantastic feeling having such a close friend with my on stage, and being able to share so many new experiences with him is unreal. I have the pleasure of living with him next year, just think of all the beard stroking that is going to go on!

Ladies and gentleman Andy Copeland!

Day 182 - Up early, bed early.

It's the weekend and I'm actually on my laptop blogging, am I slowly becoming a full time blogger? No, because I still can't structure a sentence and I have pretty much no audience. Oh well, I enjoy it haha.

Was up early this morning on my way to Huddersfield to have band practice, it was well, it's always good to get the gang back together for a few hours. Went through a few old school High State tracks and then discussed the music video next weekend. We're all a little nervous, and under prepared, but hopefully we'll all have a lot of fun. We got talking to a guy in a band who has done a few music videos and he said the best tip to make sure you're comfy on camera is to have a few beers before filming. If we go anything by what we do before gigs then we'll be right as rain.

Soon as I got in I slammed some food in the oven and watched the rest of One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. Probably the second best film I've watched in a long time. That and 2001: A Space Odyssey have changed my few on cinema all together. I'm going to carry on watching films from the list of 250 I found. I have No Country for Old Men, Memento and Sin City to watch over the next few days. I started by picking the films I've always said I want to watch, then I might move on to a few curve balls.

Feels good to be at my laptop doing a post for a change, I might have to start doing this on the weekend more often. Maybe I'll post actual blog posts over the weekends inside of a little bite into my day. Depends how lazy/hungover I get over the weekend really. It has been a calm one all round really this weekend, Friday we did nothing, Saturday we waiting for Andy to arrive and then Sunday we had band, so nothing majorly eventful really. A guy just walk past the house really drunk singing Eddie Murphy - Party All The Time, you don't normally hear that everyday, maybe a few more times in Leeds though.

I was talking with Johnny today how different we might be if we stayed in Huddersfield. We wouldn't own half the vinyls we do now, or be into the music we are if we didn't move to Leeds. Even though it has been awfully expensive it has not been a regret whatsoever. I've enjoyed it very much, and would do it again if I could afford it, but I think Huddersfield is calling for us.

Boo, Monday tomorrow. However I have a curve ball featured beard to lay on the table tomorrow.

Day 181 - Saturday/Chillday

Technically this is the only day of my weekend I won't be doing anything, seen as though tomorrow I'm at band practice for most of the day.

I took full advantage of that fact and watched a few films. I found a list of 250 films, most of them I've not watched or not got round to watching so I thought of give them a go. I started yesterday off with Resoviour Dogs, which was awesome. Everything you want from a Tarrentino film, blood, swearing, robberies, death and diamonds. I would definitely watch it again. I started today off with 2001: A Space Odessey, which again was a truly unreal film. I've no idea why I've never got round to watch it before becAuse I've loved Kubricks other films like Full Metal Jacket and The Shining. One thing I love about it was that he has so many films about so many different things, a talented man. The film itself like I said was great, the ending is a little confusing but I think I get it, slightly. The whole story is fantastic and the fact that it was released on the 60s with those shots just blew my mind! Today I started to watch that old classic One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. I got about halfway through and again I really like it. Not sure why I've not sat down and watched more classic films. I'll be doing it more and more once I finished my placement.

Well that is pretty much all I did, all day haha. Just waiting on Andy to turn up then I think we'll stick on some music and catch up. Even though he was up last weekend I'm sure he'll have some stories haha.

Day 180 - The line up is out!

So what do you know? The rumors were true. The full line up got released last night and it only got my more excited for June. Metallica got the Saturday night slot everyone had guessed along with a few other surprise names added to the line up. A few personal favourites that I'll certainly be seeing over the weekend are HAIM, Kaiser Chiefs and Temples. Along with all the other previous names.

After the line up we all sat down and had a chat about the line up and tried to come up with a plan for clashes and such. We ended up listening to the new Black Keys record which is unreal! We did it in one sitting and every song is fantastic. Although a few songs seemed a little misplaces on the record, it is still a good example of a band changing it up a little and it paying off. They are very use to the blues/garage rock style, and they've gone a lot more psychedelic with this album, I'm sure it'll go down very well at Glastonbury. I for one am very excited to be finally seeing them live after a few years of listening to them. Here is a link to a stream, I've been listening to it all day.

For some unknown reason I found it painfully hard to wake up this morning, I think the student inside me is starting to reappear ready for September haha. Not to worry, I battled on through Friday knowing I don't have to be up early at all tomorrow, but I am up early on Sunday which is a bit of a bummer, but it is our last practice before the video shoot next weekend, where again I'm sure we'll be up early for the weekend shooting in Manchester. Looking forward to it though very much.

Terri jumped back on the blogging game in the last few days, not that I have much of an audience myself, if you're into make-up, McFly and other things lady like then you can check out her blog here

Well I think that's a wrap from me. It's time for the long joruney back , but I have The Black Keys to keep me company and I'm sure they'll do a wonderful job at that.

Have a good weekend and sleep loads for me.

Day 179 - More and more things coming together

Not only is the screenplay coming together, but Glastonbury is just round the corner, and I'm on my own at work, doing everything!

First thing I did when I got in was book my train tickets to Manchester for Glastonbury. I know that sounds bizarre but we are all getting a coach from Manchester to the festival itself. We have a friend who is coming with us who lives in Manchester, so we're having one night one comfort round his with some good food before we have to tent it for 5 days. I get to Manchester In the afternoon and we set off from Manchester at 2AM, which then gets us to the festival just before the gates open. It is going to be tough, but I think I can manage it for an epic weekend. There is a rumor going around that the line up is going to be announced at 7PM tonight, so I'll be refreshing every site I know to find out who that surprise Saturday night headliner might be, along with some other names that should be added as well. I think The Subways confirmed themselves recently.

Back to reality, I've had a really busy day at work today, but I've still managed to save some time to blog. Long story short, I'm on my own what with folks being on holiday, so any meeting I'm on my own. Which I admit is a little worrying at times, but after the first few you're use to it. Today I had some big meetings with heads of departments and had to explain what was going on with the Green Hud campaign we're setting up. I thought I'd risk it and not plan any notes, which was a good idea, because it would probably make me more nervous in the long run. But like always, I had nothing to be nervous about, after five minutes I was talking and didn't stop. Everyone seems to like it and the ball and well and truly rolling.

I totally forgot about the stupid amount of food I have at home, so I think I'm making my plan when I get in is to set up some TV and then cook, loads! Not given myself time to eat so I could get everything done and even leave a little earlier than planned. I think that'll end the day off nicely. Of course it is the best day of the week tomorrow, lovely Friday. Not planning anything this weekend, I think I'm going to tidy the house so we don't have a spend too much time cleaning at last minute for when we move out. Plus I'm moving all my stuff out next weekend, and I'll be on a sleeping bag for a few weeks. Thought I'd get it all out nice and early. Plus we move out the day Glastonbury finishes, and I don't think anyone will be in any fit state to move anything that day.

Day 178 - It's all coming together | Featured Beard: Michael Fassbender

So last night was a late one. Me and Jonny we're up until the small hours coming up with more ideas for our film. We've started writing things down and coming up with a proper screenplay. Hopefully we can have it finished in a few months.

Just seen a video that's going viral about a young boy who battled cancer and go to meet his hero, Daniel Bryan. It's a lovely video and I have a lot of respect for the superstars of WWE. When watching I've noticed they do a lot for charity. Unfortunately the little fella passed a way recently, but he certainly looked extremely happy when he was in the ring with his hero!

---------------------------------BEARD TIME------------------------

So I'm going to introduce to you the lead role in my film. He needs to beard to play to role, and he might need to learn norwgian. Mr. Michael Fassbender

For a ginger beard he looks damn fine. For the role I want him to have a full on beard like he's not shaved in months. From you picture you can probably see it's pretty light compared to the other beards I've featured. But still a mighty beard.

Day 177 - I really dislike wasps.

I love summer and the good weather and everything but wasps are not cool. I was walking home and one flew right at me, I thought nothing of it until I got in the house and it was in my hood! So I started freaking out like a mad man and threw my jacket off. Now I can't find it anywhere, but I can hear it every so often. Feel like Walter White trying to find that fly. Without the all the meth, and it's a wasp not a fly.

Bit of a late one today, it had to be. Been a really busy day at work, got some designs printed up for our campaigne today and they are looking really good. Got some more to finish off tomorrow and then it'll be all good.

I was going to do a beard today but I still can't think of a theme. Think I'll just do a one off tomorrow and then see how it goes from there. Got a good one tomorrow, a personal favourite. Also the lead role in my film I'm starting to write. I actually started writing a little screenplay to it, I did a bit of research before hand and then cracked on. It is pretty hard to write a screenplay for, mainly because it's not got much dialogue and it's has some seriously detailed shots. But hopefully it will start coming together and I can show a few people. I want to properly copyright it before post it online because, I've not seen any films like it and the story is pretty different. Took a bit of influence from one of my favourite directors though Mr. Tarantino. I might actually crack on with it now, now I have the house to myself. Watch this space.

Seen as though I've started doing this I thought I'd best starting up my game when it comes to films. I remember seeing a list of the 250 top films by imdb. So I think I'm going to try and make my way through that.

But first I need to find this god damn wasp!

Day 176 - Money

Spent too much money this weekend, but it was pretty much all needed. A night out on Friday, two hangover takeaways, then paying bills and sorting out coah tickets for Glastonbury has hit me really hard. But the last part had to be done. Man money sucks. Imagine a world without time and money, I'm sure we'd all be much happier.

I've just seen a video with a poem being read to me about how technology is making us lonely and enslaving us, and of course everyone jumps on it and starts going crazy. Personally for me, I feel we wouldn't be the people we are today without it. We save more lives, we have more and more people striving to create these new products that help is live our lives, yeah it's not like old times but why should be living like that if we're becoming smart. This is Kony all over again, it'll be forgotten about next week.

It happened again, I went off on one.

Anyway, I'm going to make it an early night with some tv. I'll get thinking of some beards.

Day 175 - I'm writing a film!

So yesterday didn't seem like a productive day until we all got talking about films, and I came up with the idea of writing a film. I have a pretty good idea, I really want to get some ideas down and you never know, send it out to some places. Not sure what places but I'm sure we'll work that out. I don't want to say too much about it either because I thought of it myself and don't want anyone to steal my idea. I'll just say it involves a bearded Michael Fassbender.

Looks like another slow day to be honest, band practice was slow and we need to sort out some more dates for the music video. But that can all wait. Think I'll crack on a film and enjoy the rest of this Sunday!

Saturday, 3 May 2014

Day 174 - Great day

It's been a great day to say it's a hangover day, all we have done is say around, eating good and watching tv. Now that's what I call a weekend.

Nothing majorly eventful happened at last night, it was a good night all round and we all enjoyed ourselves!

I need to think of some more beards for next week, maybe I need a theme for the week. I'll get thinking for the rest of night.

Day 173 - It's today! | Featured Beard: Uncle Albert (Buster Merryfield)

Today is the day! I've got my loan in, everyone is coming up to party, and then we party haha. Still got a few other things to plan, like the pie and punch for when we get in, but I'm sure that will go fine. That is until the drinks start flowing, and knowing everyone that is coming out tonight they will be flowing fast no doubt. It is such a good feeling knowing that I don't have to be up early tomorrow as well. We have band practice on the Sunday and Monday to keep us going over the week which is good.

I checked out a few videos on YouTube this afternoon on slicking my hair back. Usually I go for the full on slicked back like CM Punk style, if you don't know of CM Punk he was a WWE wrestle who slicked his hair right back, in fact he is one of the guys who made me get a haircut. Not him personally, I saw his  hair style and thought "that's cool" and I went for it. But yeah I love that hair style but it always looks so normal, I've been wanting to make it a little bigger, sort of Johnny Cash style. Apparently it is called the pompadour, which I had no idea about but I've watched a few How-To videos and found a good way to give it a go, I have the perfect hair for it, I just need a decent comb which I'm going to pick up soon. I have to go into Bodycare on my own which I am not looking forward to at all. Also considering getting some new jeans, because the two pairs I own both have holes in, which again means going into Primark on my own, not fan again.

Thought I'd force myself to do this post a little earlier because I'm leaving work a little early so we can get back in good time for everyone to arrive. Don't want them coming in to a dirty student house, they probably will though haha.

------------------------------BEARD TIME-------------------------------

I left a few clues about this one, and I'm sure anyone who reads it will get it straight away. It's is of course Uncle Albert. Played by Buster Merryfield in the extremely successful British Sitcom Only Fools and Horses. Unfortunately Buster passed a way many years ago at the well bearded age of 78.

Buster of course going for the really really thick full beard, but light on top. I know I've send in the past that I'm not a big fan of gray beards, but this guy and Gandalf are the exceptions in that rule.

Only Fools and Horses was a great show and it still is to this day. Pretty much everyone I know can put on an episode and laugh at least once. So here is my all time favorite scene from show.

Have a good weekend!

Day 172 - Hair chop

Okay, firstly, no featured beard because I got let out of work early and bolted for the train so I didn't have time to blog at work. Might be the same tomorrow unless I can get a bit of time before I leave. I'm sure you can guess who it is anyway, but it should be on tomorrow.

I thought I might as well cut my hair and give my beard a little trim before going out tomorrow because I'm going to have no time at all from when I get I'm to blog. Friday should be a decent sized post but don't expect much from Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Hangovers and band stuff don't give me much time during the day. Maybe the Saturday blog will have some stories in it though haha. Anyway, decided to cut my hair for the first time on my own and I can't decide if I've done the back properly or not. It feels like it normally does but if I try to get a photo of the back of my head it looks different. It's a lot harder when you're ok your own but I think I managed it alright. Saves myself some money not having to go to a hairdresser. Just noticed a massive block I missed on the back of my head, I best sort that before work tomorrow haha.
